In the fall of 2007, friends gathered to build the "headquarters" for Edge Habitat. With a knowledge of basic strawbale building techniques and an understanding of Egyptian arch physics, we set to work on the tiny 12x12 "bedroom in the wilderness".

Because of the heavy snow load here in the mountains, we decided to run rebar through the straw bales, a step not usually taken in strawbale vault construction.
